Overview

This chapter is an overview of the iTN2100, including the following sections:





1.1 Introduction

The iTN2100, developed by Raisecom, is an integrated service access device targeted at the
network access layer.

The iTN2100, features with dual-network and dual-core structure, is compatible with both
SDH and Packet Switched (PS), thus implementing integrated access and comprehensive
management. The iTN2100 provides a wide variety of interfaces on the line side, through
which it can network with the Ethernet optical fiber transceiver, the PDH optical transceiver,
the Ethernet multiplexer, the protocol converter, and so on. In this way, it can meet customers'
diverse requirements.

The iTN2100 supports Operation, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) protocols.
Through its graphical interface on the Network Management System (NMS), it implements
service-based end-to-end monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Thus the quality of
the network and Quality of Service (QoS) are measureable and estimable. In a word, it can
improve OAM efficiency and ensure QoS on a network.

1.2 Components

The iTN2100 is composed of a chassis, fans, power supplies, cards, and cables.

Chassis

The iTN2100 is equipped with a 19-inch 6-U standard chassis, complying with the IEC297
standards.
