Chapter 7  Installing Internal Options

7.6 Installing a Daughter Card

One daughter card can be installed in this server blade. When the daughter card is 

installed, you can connect to a fibre channel devices, etc. through the network blade 

such as the FC Pass-Thru Blade (option).

7.6.1 Location of Daughter Card Installation

Install the daughter card in the daughter card slot in the server blade.

• When installing or removing a daughter card, make sure to remove the server            

blade from the chassis. Failure to do so may cause electric shock.

For details on how to remove the server blade from the chassis, refer to             

"BX600 S2 Blade Server System Unit Hardware Guide".

• The circuit boards and soldered parts of internal options are exposed. They           

can be damaged by static electricity.

Before handling them, first touch a metal part of the server to discharge static             

electricity. 

• Do not touch the circuitry on boards or soldered parts. Hold the metallic areas             

or the edges of the circuit boards.

• Expansion cards are susceptible to static electricity. Place them on conductive          

pads or keep them in their packaging as long as they are not necessary.
