Setting Up the Detectors

Turn the lamp intensity control knob fully counterclockwise.

Turn the UV lamp switch ON.

From the PID Tab make sure that AutoZero is off (the box is not checked). If it

is On, touch the field to remove the check mark.

Allow the system to stabilize until the background signal is steady.

Optimize the Lamp Intensity

As shown in the screen above, go to the Atten (Attenuation) field. Touch the

downward arrow and select an attenuation value of

Make sure

AutoZero

is off.

Locate the lamp intensity control knob (see Figure 4-14) and slowly turn it

clockwise (increasing the signal) until the background signal on your integrator

or recorder (whichever is configured) suddenly decreases.
