Installing and Starting the AP Manager
This chapter provides information on installing and starting the BayStack AP
Manager for the BayStack 660 Access Point. New features are sometimes added
to the software; therefore, it is very important to refer to the Read Me file for
updates.
Use this Java-based SNMP software to manage the BayStack 660 Access Point
over a network using the TCP/IP protocols. You can perform the management
functions from a variety of computer platforms. See the Read Me file on the
BayStack 600 Series Wireless LAN 802.11 Software CD for platform information.
Installing the BayStack AP Manager Software
To install the BayStack AP Manager software:
1.
Insert the BayStack 600 Series Wireless LAN 802.11 Software CD into the
CD-ROM drive.
The CD-ROM may launch an automatic installer utility. Exit out of this utility.
2.
On the Windows taskbar, choose Start > Run.
The Run dialog box opens.
3.
In the Open entry field line, enter:
D:\BayStack AP Manager\Install BayStack AP Managr
where “D” is the drive designation for the CD-ROM. If you cannot find this
executable file, choose Browse to find it. Click Open.
Note: Before you install the software, close all applications on the desktop and
disable any anti-virus utility on the Windows toolbar.
