Do the following if the BOOTP Request dialog box (go to Figure 4-2 on
page 4-3 ) opens when you power on the access point:
a.
Configure the TCP/IP parameters for the access point and select
whether these should be permanent or dynamic.
Check your Windows documentation for instructions on TCP/IP
configuration.
b.
In the AP Manager, select Configure > Access Points and check to see
whether your access point appears in the Access Point list (go to
Figure 4-4 on page 4-7 ).
c.
If so, click your access point.
d.
Click Configuration.
e.
Check and modify (if necessary) the IP address.

In the AP Manager, select Configure > Access Points and make sure your
access point appears in the Access Points list (go to
Figure 4-4 on
page 4-7 ).
4.
If not, confirm that both the access point and the workstation running the
AP Manager are connected to the same Ethernet segment.
5.
Power cycle your access point.
6.
Again, select Configure > Access Points and check whether your access
point appears in the Access Points list (go to
Figure 4-4 on page 4-7 ).
7.
If not, connect your access point to a 10Mbps port on the same Ethernet
segment as the workstation running the AP Manager. Power cycle your
access point (100BaseT networks only).
8.
At a command prompt on the workstation, check whether you can ping
the IP address assigned to the access point.

9.
If not, check the IP subnet mask that was assigned to your access point.
Check your Windows documentation for instructions.
10.
Reconfigure the TCP/IP settings on the workstation running the AP
Manager matches the subnet mask of your access point. Retry
management.
