6.
Click OK.
A confirmation dialog box opens.
7.
Click Yes.
You can now access the access point through Telnet session.
Starting a Telnet Session
To access the CLI, start a telnet session on the access point:
1.
Choose Start > Run.
2.
In the Open field, enter:
telnet
3.
Telnet to the IP-address of the access point.
where IP-address is the IP address of the access point to which you want to
connect.
4.
Click OK.
A telnet session opens asking for a Password. Go to
“Setting Basic
Parameters” on page 4-9
for more information.
5.
Enter the password you used for the BayStack AP Manager. Or if no
password was given, press [Enter].
The name of the system is displayed at the prompt. For example:
S/N 12345>
If the Access Point was not configured with a system name, the following
prompt is displayed:
BayStack>
To avoid typing each command completely, you can type the first few letters of
a command and the CLI attempts to match the word with a keyword. For example,
instead of typing
phy delete-bss-basic-rate
, you can type
del
. Note, however,
that an error is generated if the prefix you typed matches more than one keyword.
In that case, you must add more letters to the prefix.
Parameter values in the CLI are italicized and enclosed in carets < >; for example,
<ip-add>. Do not type the carets when you enter the parameter values. All
parameters are required and must be in the order shown.
