Acquiring User-Mode Process Dump
For Windows Server 2008
User-mode process dump is a file recording information when application error occurs.
When an application error occurs, acquire the user-mode process dump with the following
procedure without ending an error message indicating the error occurred.
1. Right-click on the blank space of the task bar and click
“Task Manager”

2. Click
“Process”
tab.
3. Right-click on the process name to acquire the dump and click
“Create Dump File”
.
4. The dump file is created in the following folder.
C:¥Users¥(User name)¥AppData¥Local¥Temp
When the user-mode process dump is created, acquire the file from the folder of step 4 shown
above.

NOTE:
The folder above may be set as hidden attribute. When the temp
folder is not displayed, select “Folder Option” from “Tool” in the
explorer, and select “Show hidden files and folders” on “View” tab.
NOTE:
On Windows Server 2008, Dr. Watson
is changed to “Problem Reports and
Solutions” and Crash Dump File cannot be collected by using the traditional
Dr. Watson. The information of the same level as Crash Dump File can be
acquired with the procedure above.
