Battery for RAID Controller (MegaRAID)
This section describes the features operations of battery for RAID Controller (MegaRAID).
Features
The RAID Controller (MegaRAID) contains optional backup battery.
With the following features, the possibility of data loss due to an unexpected accident (e.g., an
instantaneous power failure which may occur in Write Back mode) can be avoided.
●
Backup of data in cache memory of RAID Controller
●
Improvement of reliability in Write Back mode
●
Adoption of reusable lithium-ion battery
●
You can see the status of battery using WebBIOS or Universal RAID Utility.
See "Adapter Properties" in this chapter about how to check the status of battery by
WebBIOS.
Refer to "Universal RAID Utility Ver2.1 or later User's Guide" for Windows or "Universal
RAID Utility Ver2.3 User's Guide" for Linux included in NEC EXPRESSBUILDER about
how to check the status of battery by Universal RAID Utility.
IMPORTANT:
If you view the cache mode of logical drive that was created or
configured using [Auto Switch] while the battery is being charged
or discharged, the battery status is displayed as [WriteThrough].
