NOTE
When the number of characters you can
input gets to 10 or less, a counter appears
under "Send" to indicate the remaining
number of characters that can be input.
You can insert a smiley if you press
m
→
"Insert smiley" when entering your message.
Although an emoticon appears on your
"Type to compose" box, the smiley is
displayed if the message is received on an
Android compatible phone.

To receive notification when the SMS
message you sent is received, press
m
→
"Settings" on the "Messaging" screen, and
mark the "Delivery reports" checkbox.
You can also send/receive SMS messages
to/from users of overseas network
operators other than DOCOMO. For
available countries/compatible overseas
network operators, see "Mobile Phone
User's Guide [International Services]" or the
DOCOMO "International Services website".
To send SMS messages to users of
overseas network operators other than
DOCOMO, enter "+" → "Country code" → "the
recipient mobile phone number". Omit "0" if
the recipient phone number starts with "0".
You can also send an SMS message by
entering "010", "Country code" and "the
recipient mobile phone number". (To reply to
an SMS message sent from overseas, enter
"010".)
Receiving/reading an SMS

From the Home screen,

"Messaging".

Tap one of the threads.
NOTE
If "Notifications" setting is enabled,
appears in the status bar when you receive
an SMS message. To read the message,
drag the status bar downwards, then tap
the Notifications panel for the message to
open the received SMS screen.
Deleting a received message

Tap any of the threads on
the "Messaging" screen.

The message is displayed.

Touch and hold the message
you want to delete.

A menu appears.

"Delete message"
•
The menu reconfirming the deletion will
be displayed. Tap "Delete" to delete the
message.
