FAULT MESSAGE Low Lube Oil Pressure
RESTRICTIONS
Engine Shutdown.
ALARM BELL
30 sec.
RESET LEVEL
Medium, Manual
After manual reset if the fault still present, the fault will be generated
again.
FAULT
RECOVERY
Automatic when engine is shutdown. Automatic Fault Reset is
permitted for maximum 5 times in an hour, after which manual
clearing is required.
PROBABLE
CAUSES
This message will only be logged when ‘Low LOP shut down enabled’
flag is enabled. By default this flag is disabled as Governor is taking
care of low lube oil pressure.
This message will be logged if engine is shut down due to low lube oil
pressure as sensed by LOP pressure sensor available in MEP-system.
1. Lube Oil Pressure is really dipped below the set limit.
2. Pressure sensor might be defective.
3. MIAI card might be defective.
FAULT
ISOLATION
1. Check the real conditions at which the engine is shut down. If realy
there is a dip in LOP, identify the root cause for LOP dipping.
2. Check the difference of pressures between LOP guage / diplay
reading on Governor. If there is a difference between the MCBG
display / LOP gauge:
A. Connect a calibrated gauge at the pressure inlet of LOP sensor
by providing a ‘T’ joint. Crank the engine. Compare the
readings.
B. If there is a difference between display and the calibrated
gauge:
a. Replace the sensor and verify the readings.
b. If still difference of reading is available, change the MIAI
card and check the readings.
C. If the difference is permisable, check the pipelines and clean the
pipes.
