UltraBay Drive Problems
Problem Action
The CD-ROM drive or
diskette drive in the
UltraBay does not work. Verify that:
1. The drive is connected firmly in the UltraBay connector.
Remove and reinstall the drive by referring to “Supported
Drives” on page 35.
2. The drive works correctly if installed in the computer's
UltraBay.
3. The drive works correctly when running the drive test. See
“How to Run Tests” on page 92.
4. Correct setup (including resource assignment and device
driver installation) was done when you installed the device.
5. No more than two IDE devices are installed including a
device in the half-height drive space.
The hard disk drive in the
UltraBay does not work. Verify that:
1. The drive is connected firmly in the UltraBay connector.
Remove and reinstall the drive by referring to “Supported
Drives” on page 35.
2. The drive works correctly if installed in the computer's
UltraBay.
3. The drive works correctly when running drive tests. See
“How to Run Tests” on page 92.
4. The hard disk password is correctly set. If you need
operation instructions to set the password, see the user's
guide for your computer.
