Procedure
Step 1
Determine the position of the faulty battery switch tripper, and open the corresponding
cabinet door.
Step 2
Remove the front panel of the battery cabinet circuit breaker using a Phillips screwdriver, as
shown in
Step 3
Switch a multimeter to the DC voltage mode to measure the voltage between positive and
negative copper bars at the upper part of the battery switch. If the voltage is lower than 36 V
DC for 1 minute, replace the battery switch tripper.
Step 4
Remove the panel from the MCCB.
Step 5
Remove the three screws from the MCCB cover using a Phillips screwdriver, and remove the
cover, as shown in
Figure 5-20

Step 6
Remove the two signal cables that are located in the left fitting subrack inside the switch and
one screw from the battery switch tripper. Remove the faulty battery switch tripper.
When removing cables, label the cables with corresponding terminal ports for later connection.
Step 7
Install the new battery switch tripper by referring to the preceding method. Connect cables
and tighten screws.
Step 8
Reinstall the removed components, and close the corresponding cabinet door.
