17.1 Configuring the RS-232 Serial Port
Note:
The <RS-232> serial port is not supported by GD-RN-AC2004P, GD-RN-AC2416N and GD-RN-AC2416P. (For
further information:
GD-RN-AP8616P, GD-RN-AP8632P and
GD-RN-AT819128N have a <RS-232> and a
<RS-485> <Port>. GD-RN-AT8864N has a <RS-232> <Port>.)
The <RS-232 Port> can be used in two ways:
<Parameters Configuration>:
Connect a PC to the NVR through the PC <Serial Port>. Device parameters
can be configured by using software such as HyperTerminal. The <Serial Port> parameters must be the
same as the NVR’s when connecting with the PC <Serial Port>.
<Transparent Channel>:
Connect a serial device directly to the NVR. The <Serial Device> will be
controlled remotely by the PC through the network and the protocol of the serial device.
Steps:
1.
Enter the <RS-232 Settings> interface: Menu >Configuration> RS-232.

Configure the <RS-232> parameters, including the <Baud Rate>, the <Data Bit>, the <Stop Bit>, the
<Parity>, the <Flow Control> and the <Usage>.
3.
Click the <Apply> button to save the settings.
17.2 Configuring the General Settings
You can configure the <BNC Output Standard>, <VGA Output Resolution>, <Mouse Pointer Speed>
through the Menu > Configuration > General interface.
Steps:
1.
Enter the <General Settings> interface: Menu >Configuration> General
2.
Select the <General>
tab.
