Still Store Operations
General Still Store Information
Standard features include:
• Playback, Create Edit, and Cache Still Store menus,
• Animation clips, permitting up to 1.8 seconds of full raster animation
with key (2.15 seconds at 25 fps). With fenced storage (1/25) animation
up to 45 seconds (54 seconds at 25 fps) is possible,
• Partial raster (fenced) image capture,
• Clip begin mark, end mark, and looping,
• Input and output crop and position controls,
• Program output presets, and
• Still and clip storage to folders, and folder creation, copying, and
deleting.
Output Based Menu Control
For the fastest response time, Zodiak Still Store menu operation is based on
outputs. In general, you select the Still Store Program output channel you
wish to control and then make the desired changes. For example, with Still
Store Program output 1 selected, selecting a different cached still image
immediately sends that new still image to that output. If the selected still
was not cached, the caching process begins immediately to bring the image
to that output as rapidly as possible.
Image File Size and Disk Management
A full frame Still Store video image requires about one MB (1024 KB) of
storage space, and a video with key image requires about two MB (2048
KB). Approximately 1800 full frame video images can be saved to the Still
Store hard disk, and about 250 can reside on a Zip disk (half that number
for video with key images). For a full frame animated clip, each frame
requires the above storage space, so a 10 second full frame clip at 30 fps
without key requires about 300 Mb (double that for video with key).
When a disk becomes filled, new material will not be able to be captured or
recorded. A Still Store menu control is available to delete an individual still
or clip from disk, to free up disk space. Note also that fenced recordings
(described later) are not full frame, which reduces the storage requirements
per image and improves access times.
