Section 4 — Menus Overview
Aux Bus Menu
The Aux Bus menu (
) is a source selector for the A and B channels
for Aux pairs and defines the B channel of an Aux Pair as either
Video
or
Key
.
It also allows the operator to set up the
Near Side Source
and
Far Side Source
to
be selected in conjunction with a digital effects system.
Aux bus outputs are first configured in the Eng Setups - Outputs menu (see
). Aux Bus delegation for selecting sources on the
PVW/AUX bus are set in the User Preferences – Aux Delegate Mapping
menu (see
Aux Deleg Mapping Menu on page 181
). Refer to Section 3 – Con-
figuration in the Zodiak Installation and Service Manual for complete Aux Bus
configuration instructions.
When an Aux bus is configured as an Aux Pair, the settings on the Aux Bus
menu affect the B channel output of that Aux Pair as shown in the example
below. The A channel of the Aux Pair is always a video signal. The B
channel can be either a
Video
or
Key
.
Paired outputs are typically used with external DPMs. The DPM can
choose to operate in video/key or video/video mode. The settings in this
menu should match the settings currently being used by that DPM’s effect.
The Aux Bus settings in this menu are keyframeable, allowing the changing
of settings even during an effect run. You may want to assign the aux buses
associated to a DPM to the same E-MEM enable group as that DPM, so the
settings are always recalled in sync with the DPM effect recall.
