Introduction
The following areas of the Zodiak Main panel use delegation:
• Keyers subpanels
• Key bus source selection rows
• Joystick subpanel
• E-MEM numeric keypads in each M/E
• PVW/AUX bus source selection
• Menu panes
Automatic Subpanel Delegation
The Zodiak system is designed so that when an operator activates a partic-
ular object, one or more subpanels will automatically delegate to control
the specific object involved. This allows the operator to quickly access the
necessary controls without having to select them manually.
The subpanels that are auto delegated and the functions for initiating del-
egation are outlined in
Table 1 .
Momentary Delegation
An operator may sometimes have subpanel controls delegated to a certain
object, but need to make a quick change to a different object. For example,
a Keyers subpanel delegated to Keyer 1 may be temporarily delegated to
Keyer 3 to make a quick adjustment. This is done by holding down the
Keyer 3 button for a preset period. If the user makes an adjustment to Keyer
3 within the time allowed, the timer will reset, otherwise, after a period of
no activity applied to Keyer 3, the delegation will return to the original del-
egation, Keyer 1. A user preference sets the hold down delay.
