Appendix — Still Store Loader

Introduction

The Still Store Loader utility program is used to upload and download 
Zodiak Stillstore images to and from a PC on the network. 

The Still Store Loader software application is designed to run on a net-
worked computer. Still Store Loader can take image files from any 
mounted drive and transfer them to a Zodiak Stillstore (download) using 
FTP. Still Store Loader can also receive still store images from a Zodiak Still-
store (upload). 

Besides uploading and downloading images, Still Store Loader can be used 
to:

•

Reposition images,

•

Preview images at full size on the PC monitor,

•

Command the target device to generate a matte of a specified color to 
fill any empty areas around the downloaded image, and

•

Save files to disk.

Still Store Loader works with the following file types:

•

.tif files, 

•

24-bit and 32-bit .bmp files, and

•

Still video files created by the Still Store Loader application or a Zodiak 
Stillstore.

Note

A Zodiak still video file actually has two components, a .gva metadata file and 
a .gvi image file. The Still Store Loader application handles both files auto-
matically, but you will see additional files when directly viewing a Windows 
directory of the files.
