Section 4 — Menus Overview
The
Grab Key
button permits grabbing only the key portion of an image. This
button is active only after a Video and Key grab has been performed.
Grab Key
can be used if the video and key are supplied from separate sources
or are laid down sequentially on a graphics reel. The key image to be
grabbed cannot be previewed using the Still Store (do not press the
Show Input
button, as this discards the currently grabbed material). You can
use a separate monitor to view the graphics reel to cue to the key image (see
Step 7 on page 402 ).
Note The Grab buttons are intended for quick capture of full screen stills. To
capture a smaller area, set up a single frame fenced record (see
page 263 ).
The
Save
button saves the item to the currently selected folder (see Folder
Browser on page 256 ).
The progress of the save is reported in the upper right notification area. See
Approximate Animation Clip Load and Save Times Table 12 on page 396 for
related information about saving clips.
Create Edit Menu Position and Crop Controls
Touching the Position and Crop data pads brings up the same controls
available from the Still Store Playback menu (see
Figure 177 on page 259
and Figure 178 on page 260 ). These controls affect what is displayed on the
Still Store output and what metadata will be saved with that item.
The
Record
button is used to record an animation clip (either video only or
video/key). The
Record
button lights when material resides in the record
buffer, not while a recording is in progress. The current status of a
recording is reported in the notification area at the upper right of the menu.
Note Images that have not been saved are only held temporarily. Selecting a dif-
ferent item or changing Still Store output delegation discards unsaved
images.
