Section 5 — System Operation

 

To Copy a Folder of Still Store Items with the File Operations Menu:

Follow the steps described above, but at 

Step 4

 instead of opening the 

folder and selecting a pair of files, select the folder itself, then complete the 
procedure. 

Still Store Folder Browser Copy

A folder of Still Store items can also be copied using the Still Store Folder 
Browser, using the same procedure above. However, because files are not 
displayed on the Still Store folder browser, you will not know what files are 
being copied. It is better to use the File Operations menu for copying Still 
Store items.

Still Store Loader

The Still Store Loader utility program can be used to transfer image files 
between a PC and the Still Store. Only full raster images can be transferred, 
and video and key pair images need to be transferred individually. The Still 
Store Loader program does not pass crop or position metadata, and does 
not support fenced images or animation clips. This program is included on 
the Zodiak Software CD, and can be installed onto any PC, including the 
Zodiak Menu panel. 

Still Store Loader transfers files only to the Still Store C:User/DEFAULT 
directory. If this directory has been renamed or deleted Still Store Loader 
will not work. See 

Appendix — Still Store Loader on page 421

 for more infor-

mation. 

Direct FTP File Transfers

Still Store images, being files, can be transferred between computers using 
FTP. If files are transferred in this way into a Still Store directory, the items 
will not immediately appear in the Still Store menu browser. A Still Store 
menu change directory operation (or a system reset) is required before the 
browser will display FTP transferred items. 

The FTP server built into the Zodiak system is tested with the Microsoft 
Internet Explorer browser and the Microsoft FTP utilities. These are the rec-
ommended programs to use for FTP with Zodiak systems. Some browsers 
and FTP utilities are not compatible with the Zodiak FTP software. These 
browsers do not recognize the Phar Lap Real-Time Operating System FTP 
server used by Zodiak, and do not follow the established standard of per-
forming binary transfers when communicating with an unrecognized FTP 
server. If your browser or FTP program does not work with a Zodiak 
system, use the programs recommended above instead, or contact the 
maker of that browser or FTP program to request a fix.
