selection...OR...the regulator on the
fuel pump detects an open power cir-
cuit or earth/ground short on pin 16
of the engine wiring harness for idle
speed selection.
Whenever data transmission between
the electronic control unit and the regu-
lator on fuel pump VP44 is interrupted,
the engine - regardless of speed ad-
justment - only runs at a speed slightly
above that of the idle speed.
