Troubleshooting the Ethernet Controller
This section provides troubleshooting information for problems that might occur with
the 10/100/1000-Mbps Ethernet controller.
To resolve network connection problems:
If the Ethernet controller cannot connect to the network, perform the following:
•
Check the BIOS configuration relating to the LAN.
•
Verify that the cable from the LAN connector on the server is connected to the
LAN.
•
Check that the network cable is attached at all connections. If the cable is
attached but the problem persists, try a different cable.
•
Check the LAN activity light on the rear of the Color Controller C-80. The LAN
activity light illuminates when the Ethernet controller sends or receives data over
the Ethernet network. If the LAN activity light is off, ensure that the hub and
network are operating and that the correct device drivers are loaded.
Verifying the LAN Speed
Use the following procedure to make sure that your system is operating at the
maximum speed of the network.
1. Right-click
My Network Places

Properties

The Network Connection window appears.
2. Right-click
Local Area Connection
, and select
Properties
.
3. Select the
Show icon in taskbar when connected
check box and click
OK
.
