Panel Options
RESET / 3RD PARTY METER PANEL
An upstand mounted reset/3rd party
meter panel is normally fitted above
the dedicated monitor panel. Several
variants of this panel are available
with different metering options.
3rdpartymeters
Reset panels can be supplied with RTW
TM7's or DK MSD600
++
's. These are
powerful units made by specialist meter
manufacturers, offering visual surround
field representation with comprehensive
phase metering, alongside other
features such as loudness metering
and stereo vectorscopes. Please refer
to the manufacturer's documentation
for full details of the full feature set and
configuration information. Reset panels
are also available with no 3rd party meters
fitted.
3rd party meters receive power from a
single PSU, fed from the ancillary AC
mains input to the control surface.
Movingcoilmeters
Moving coil meters are becoming obsolete
due to their limitations and advances in
customisable TFT style meters which are
designed to display multiple parameters of
multi-channel digital audio, including full
headroom and true digital peaks. High
quality mechanical movements are no
longer being manufactured and therefore
are no longer a part of the product range.
Users who prefer this style of meter
should order RTW TM7's, requesting that
moving coil emulation is enabled. This
package provides accurate VU and PPM
response with appropriate scaling on a
clear, wide-angle display, using graphics
and sizing that compares well with true
mechanical versions.
For information on pre-existing
mechanical moving coil meter panels,
please refer to the Obsolete Panels
section.
RTWTM7metertypesandlayout
The TM7 is very customisable in terms
of sizing, layout, the quantity and types
of meter being displayed. The images in
this document just show example meter
configurations. Please refer to RTW's
documentation for more information.
Audiointerfacefor3rdpartymeters
Audio inputs to third party meters are
available on the console's rear connector
interface, as detailed in the Surface
Rear Connector Pin-Outs section of this
document.
RT6083 - TWIN RTW TM7
RT6085 - TWIN DK MSD600
++
• Both meters shown in the
RT6083 above are identical in
hardware, but configured with
different user display settings.
RTW TM7's
have 4 digital inputs (4 x AES
pairs = 8 audio channels), and 8 analogue
inputs. Please specify at order whether
balanced AES (on D-type connectors), or
unbalanced AES3id (on BNC connectors)
are required.
DK MSD600's
can be fitted with up to
4 input cards. Card types available from
Calrec are:
• Unbalanced digital only, providing 4
AES3id input pairs per card, wired out
to BNC connectors on the console's
rear interface.
