Configuring a global timeout for ARP entries

About this task

Use this procedure to configure an aging time for the ARP entries.

Procedure

To configure a global timeout for ARP entries, enter the following from the Global
Configuration mode:

ip arp timeout <timeout>

Variable Definitions

Variable

Value

<timeout>

Specifies the amount of time in minutes before an ARP entry
ages out. Range is 5-360. The default value is 360 minutes.

Clearing the ARP cache

About this task

Use this procedure to clear the cache of ARP entries.

Procedure

To clear the ARP cache, enter the following from the Global Configuration mode:

clear arp-cache
