
Configuring a global timeout for ARP entries
About this task
Use this procedure to configure an aging time for the ARP entries.
Procedure
To configure a global timeout for ARP entries, enter the following from the Global
Configuration mode:
ip arp timeout <timeout>
Variable Definitions

Specifies the amount of time in minutes before an ARP entry
ages out. Range is 5-360. The default value is 360 minutes.

About this task
Use this procedure to enable proxy ARP functionality on a VLAN. By default, proxy ARP is
disabled.
Prerequisites
• Enable IP routing globally.
• Enable IP routing and configure an IP address on the VLAN to be configured as a Proxy
ARP interface.
