About this task

Use the following procedure to configure the LACP mode of operations for a set of ports.

Procedure

To configure the operating mode, use the following command from Interface
Configuration mode.

lacp mode [port <portList>] {active | passive | off}

Variable Definitions

Variable

Value

port <portList>

The ports for which the LACP mode is to be
set.

{active | passive | off}

The type of LACP mode to set for the port.
The LACP modes are:

• active -- The port will participate as an

active Link Aggregation port. Ports in
active mode send LACPDUs periodically to
the other end to negotiate for link
aggregation.

• passive -- The port will participate as a

passive Link Aggregation port. Ports in
passive mode send LACPDUs only when
the configuration is changed or when its
link partner communicates first.

• off -- The port does not participate in Link

Aggregation.
