
snmp-server community for read or write command
This command configures a single read-only or a single read-write community. A community
configured using this command does not have access to any of the SNMPv3 MIBs. The
community strings created by this command are controlled by the SNMP Configuration screen
in the console interface. These community strings have a fixed MIB view.
The
snmp-server community
command for read/write modifies the community strings for
SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c access.
The syntax for the
snmp-server community
for read/write command is
snmp-server community [ro|rw]
The
snmp-server community
for read/write command executes in the Global Configuration
mode.

ro|rw (read-only I read-write)
Specifies read-only or read-write access. Stations
with ro access can only retrieve MIB objects, and
stations with rw access can retrieve and modify MIB
objects. If ro nor rw are not specified, ro is assumed
(default).
snmp-server community command
The
snmp-server community
command allows you to create community strings with
varying levels of read, write, and notification access based on SNMPv3 views. These
community strings are separate from those created using the snmp-server community for read/
write command.
This command affects community strings stored in the SNMPv3 snmpCommunity Table, which
allows several community strings to be created. These community strings can have any MIB
view.
The syntax for the
snmp-server community
command is
snmp-server community {read-view <view-name>|write-view <view-name>|
notify-view <view-name>}
The
snmp-server community
command executes in the Global Configuration mode.
