File
Renders to a file. For information about how to use RFILEOPT to create a
script to render to a file, see the

Displays a dialog box that varies depending on whether you have selected
Render, Photo Real, or Photo Raytrace.

When File is selected, displays the File Output Configuration Dialog Box.
Query for Selections
Displays a prompt to select objects to render.
If the PICKFIRST system variable is on, and the Query for Selection option
is selected, RENDER uses only the current selection set.
Render Cache
Specifies that rendering information be written to a cache file on the hard
disk. A display list of renderable objects is cached in a temporary file during
the first rendering. The cached file is used for subsequent renderings,
significantly improving rendering time.
Render Window
Renders to the Render Window.
Shadows
Generates shadows. This option applies only to Photo Real and Photo
Raytrace rendering.
Skip Render Dialog
Renders the current view without displaying the Render dialog box for
subsequent renderings. You can use the Render Preferences dialog box to
display the Render dialog box. See RPREF.
Smooth Shade
Smooths out the rough-edged appearance of a multi-faceted surface. The
surface normal is calculated, and the colors are blended across two or more
adjacent faces.
