Link Layer Protocol
the bridge can detect the link faults in the network promptly without occupying too many
network resources.
When configuring the Hello Time timer, it should be noted that:
Regardless of their configurations, all the bridges in the spanning tree should use
the time value of the Hello Time timer of root bridge.
Too long a Hello Time will cause the bridge to recompute the spanning tree
because it mistakes the packet dropping of the link for link fault, whereas too short
a Hello Time will cause it to send BPDUs frequently and thus add the bridge CPU
load. It is recommended that users use the default value.
Example
# Configure the time value of the Hello Time timer in bridge information to 5 seconds.
[3Com]
bridge stp timer hello 5

Parameter
bridge-set
:
Bridge set number, in the range 1 to 63.
acl-number:
Access control list number based on MAC address, in the range of 700 to
799.
Description
Using the
bridge-set dest-mac
acl
command, you can configure to apply the ACL
based on MAC address on an outbound interface. Using the
undo bridge-set
dest-mac
acl
command, you can cancel the application of ACL based on MAC address
on an outbound interface.
This command makes the specified interface only forwards the Ethernet frame that
satisfies certain conditions.
Example
# Apply the ACL 700 based on MAC address on the outbound Ethernet interface0.
[3Com-Ethernet0]
bridge-set 1 dest-mac acl 700
