Parameter
virtual_router_id: Virtual Router ID, namely, VRRP backup group number, ranging
from 1 to 255.
seconds: Interval that MASTER in backup group sends VRRP packet in seconds with
a value ranging from 1 to 255. By default, the seconds is 1 second.
Description
Using the vrrp vrid timer-advertise command, you can configure timer of the backup
group. Using the undo vrrp vrid timer-advertise command, you can restore the
default value of timer.
The MASTER router of a VRRP standby group notifies its normal operation state to
the routers within the group by sending them VRRP packets regularly ( adver_interval).
If the BACKUP routers fail to receive the VRRP packets from MASTER over a certain
period of time ( master_down_interval), they reach the conclusion that the master
routers are not functioning properly and will change their own state to MASTER.
The user can set timer adver_interval through this command, and the value of timer
master_down_interval is three time of that of adver_interval .
Example
# Set the interval when MASTER in backup group 1 sends VRRP packet to 5
seconds.
