Parameter
protocol-type
: protocol type which is either IP or IPX.
Description
Using the
x25 default-protocol
command, you can configure the default upper layer
protocol carried by the X.25 protocol for the interface. Using the
undo x25
default-protocol
command, you can cancel the protocol specified.
In the process of establishing an X.25 SVC, the called device will check the Call User
Data (CUD) field in the X.25 call request packet. If the field is unidentifiable, it will refuse
to establish the connection for the call. However, the user can specify a default upper
layer protocol borne by X.25. Thus, whenever receiving a call carrying unknown CUD,
X.25 can treat it according to the user-defined default upper layer protocol.
By default, the protocol type is IP.
For related commands, see
x25 map
.
Example
# Set the default upper-layer protocol over the X.25 interface Serial0 to IP.
[3Com-Serial0]
