:
Type of the trap that will be sent,which can be:
bgp
Enable the router to send bgp traps.
dlsw
Enable the router to send dlsw traps.
fr
Enable the router to send frame-relay traps.
ndec
Enable the router to send crypto card module traps.
pos:
Enable the router to send Trap packet of POS module.
rmon:
Enable the router to send rmon Trap packet.
system:
Enable the router to send system Trap packet.
ts
Enable the router to send terminal access server traps.
standard

]: Enable the router to send SNMP traps. When
configuring the router for sending
standard
trap, you can also configure the
parameter of trap
notification-option

trap-option
:
Trap notification option. This parameter can be configured when
configuring the
standard
traps. This parameter can have the following options:
authentication:
Enable the router to send authentication traps.
Coldstart:
Enable the router to send cold-start traps.
Warmstart:
Enable the router to send warm-start traps.
Linkup:
Enable the router to send traps when the line protocol on the interface
is up.
linkdown
Enable the router to send traps when the line protocol on the
interface is down.
Description
Using the
snmp-agent trap enable
command, you can enable the router to send
Trap messages or specify the type of the transmitting Trap packet. Using the
undo
snmp-agent trap enable
command, you can disable the router to send traps.
By default, the router is disabled to send traps.
If the type of traps is not specified, by default, executing this command will transmit all
types of traps, i.e. authentication, cold start, warm-start, link status (up or down), will
be sent.
Before configuring
snmp-agent trap enable
command, the user should use
snmp-agent target-host
command to configure the host which can receive Trap
messages.
