Description
Using the
send-frame-type
command, you can configure the send frame type of the
IP datagram for the Ethernet interface. Using the
undo send-frame-type
command,
you can restore the send frame type of IP datagram to default.
By default, the send frame type of IP datagram is Ethernet_II.
The Ethernet interface of the 3Com series of routers supports the following four frame
types:
Ethernet_II
Ethernet_SNAP
802.2
802.3
Ethernet_II and Ethernet_SNAP frame type support IP protocol, and all four types
support IPX. The Ethernet interface can auto-discriminate the types of frames
received, so it can receive packets of multiple frame types concurrently. But it can
only send packets of one single frame type at the same time.
