Emprise 7000 Installation and Service Guide 55
Powering Up and Configuring an ISE
Do not power up the ISE until you have connected all of the power, Ethernet, and fiber cables, as
described in “Chapter 3: Cabling the Emprise 7000” on page 39.
1. Turn the power switch on each ISE power supply to the On position (O).
2. Verify that the ISE is operational by looking at the LEDs on the back of the ISE. At this point,
the MRC LEDs are amber and the power supply LEDs are green.
Upgrading Firmware
1. Use a 9-pin null modem cable to connect the computer to the serial port on the top MRC.
2. Bring up your terminal emulator with these settings: 115200, 8, n, 1, n.
3. At the seaSH prompt, type
seash>show mrc
.
4. in the left column, check the firmware version. If this is not the latest EC level of firmware, you
must upgrade the MRC firmware. See “Upgrading MRC Firmware” on page 110
Configuring the ISE
1. If not already installed, download and install ActiveTcl
from http://support.xiotech.com.
2. Download ise_setup_Vx_x.zip from http://support.xiotech.com (Vx_x is the version number).
3. Extract the files from the zip file.
4. Use a 9-pin null modem cable to connect the computer with the downloaded files to the serial
port on the back of the ISE.
5. For each ISE, run
ise_setup.bat <dsc_id> <ip_address> <com_port>
For example: ise_setup.bat 100116 172.20.1.2 1
See the Emprise 7000 Configuration Guide for the IP addresses to use. For the second MRC in
the ISE, the program will automatically increment the last digit of the IP address by one. There-
fore, when entering IP addresses for each ISE, you should increment the IP address by at least
2.
When the ISE has been configured properly, the following message appears:
ISE configured successfully.
If the following message appears, rerun the command in step 6.
Failed to configure ISE
