Ethernet Switches
Use the Emprise 7000 Configuration Guide to obtain the required IP addresses for step 16 below.
1. Assign the IP address on your laptop to 192.168.2.5.
2. Plug a network cable from your laptop into the Ethernet switch.
3. Power up the switch.
4. Make sure the Managed Mode light turns solid green. If it does not, use a paper clip to press
the Managed Mode recessed button and wait for the light to turn solid green.
5. When the Managed Mode light is solid green, open up Internet Explorer.
6. In the address field, type in
192.168.2.1
and press enter.
7. The login page appears.
8. The default login is "admin" and there is no password. The username is case sensitive.
9. Select
Local User Database
from the left menu.
10. Set the password for "admin" to be "made4you".
11. Apply the change by clicking the
Apply Changes
button.
12. Select
Switch Status
from the left menu.
13. Enter the System Name: Switch1, Switch2, Switch3, etc.
14. Apply the change by clicking the
Apply Changes
button.
15. Select
IP Addressing
from the left menu.
16. Enter the IP Address and the Subnet Mask as provided in the Emprise 7000 Configuration
Guide.
17. Apply the change by clicking the
Apply Changes
button.
Front-End Fabric SAN Switch
1. Power up the front-end fabric switch.
2. Set the switch ports that are connected to the system controllers to FL.
3. See the document “Zoning Requirements” on the Xiotech Xone to zone this switch.
