Chapter 4: Configuring the
Emprise 7000

After you have rack-mounted and cabled the Emprise 7000 system components, complete the
procedures in this chapter to power up and configure the system.

You must power up and configure the components in the following order:

1. Power on and configure the switches (see page 51).

2. Power up and configure each ISE (see page 55).

3. Power up ICON and configure the ICON IP address (see page 56).

4. Power up the system controllers and configure their IP addresses and serial numbers (see

page 57).

5. Power up and zone the servers (see page 59).

6. Configure the Emprise system (see page 60).

Caution:

Follow the sequence below when powering up the Emprise components. If you
do not, the Emprise system may not operate correctly.

Warning:

The Emprise system uses a Class I laser device. Do not look directly at the
beam.
