5.26 10 MHz Reference
5.26.1 Overview
The 10 MHz Reference is a GPS satellite synchronized time and
frequency standard manufactured by Symmetricom. The 10 MHz
Reference generates precise time and frequency outputs, serves as the
Network Time Server, and supplies low noise 10 MHz reference outputs
for Hub equipment. The 10 MHz reference is a 1U high, rack-mountable
unit with redundant GPS receivers and Network Time Server. It
supports NTP via standard 10/100 Base-T RJ-45 connectors. The unit
includes a high stability internal OCXO, synchronized to GPS timing for
10-12 output frequency accuracy. An auxiliary reference input is
provided for backup if the internal oscillator fails.
