5.5.6 Monitoring

The RtNMS can be monitored using an external connectivity monitoring
software such as IsItUp or SNMP OpManager.

At the local console or when using VNC or KVM access use: ps –ef

system command to ensure that the RtNMS process is running. The
operator can also use the ‘tail’ Linux command from any terminal

window under SuSe Linux OS to observe the contents of the current
execution log file, e.g. tail –f /home/arclight/rtnms/logs/rtnms.log

Refer also to Section 4: Other Network Management Facilities for

information on monitoring the operation of the ABS.
