Screen Descriptions for NMS Client

There are three drop-down menus, Stream, Edit, and View;
Stream is used to set up the parameters that identify the events entered
into the Event Streamer database. Click on Stream to display the drop-
down menu. The check boxes permit selection of the events that are
stored in the Event Streamer database. The user must have specific
authority to be able to change the data entered into the Event Streamer
database.

Network Hardware – when checked, displays events originating in
network hardware elements.
Network Configuration – when checked, displays events relating to
configuration of the network.
NMS Software – when checked, displays events triggered by NMS
software activity.
NMS User Activity – when checked, displays events triggered by NMS
users.
NMS Server Debug – when checked, displays events established for
debugging NMS server software.
Client Software – when checked, displays events triggered by client
software.
Client Debug – when checked, displays events established for
debugging client software.
NOTE: that the client debug and server debug options are grayed-out and
may not be selected, due to the volume of information which would flood
the event streamer as a result of selecting one or both.
Exit – select Exit to close the Event Streamer window. When the Event
Streamer is opened again the events displayed will begin at the time the
window is opened.
Edit –Edit is used to capture Event Streamer events presented in the
display window for use in other reports. The Event Streamer display is
updated in real time.
NOTE: When new events are quickly being logged it may be difficult to
use the edit feature due to insufficient time between new events.
