User Interface
In this mode, the MorphoAccess® SIGMA Family terminal waits for the placement of a finger on
the biometric sensor. This state is displayed to the user by a specific signal, as described in
“Terminal States” section.
The identification process begins when the user’s finger is detected on the biometric sensor.
Figure 324:
Identification Mode
The biometric data of the finger is captured, and then compared to the biometric database on
the terminal
If a match is found, then the user is identified (the terminal has its identifier) and access
is granted to the user.
Otherwise, if no match found, the user remains unknown (the user’s identifier is
unavailable), and the access is denied.
The result of the identification process is notified to the user by a specific signal, as described in
“Terminal States” section.
When the identification process is completed, whatever is the result (identified or not
identified), the terminal automatically goes back to its initial state: This implies that it will wait
for finger to be placed on the biometric sensor.
When the administrator has not enrolled any users into the terminal database, the identification
process is disabled. None of the users are granted access. The terminal notifies this invalid state
to the user as described in “Terminal States” section.
