Configuration

Also make sure the 20 mA value is below the Hold Off Distance/Upper Null Zone (UNZ).
(This parameter may be used if there are measurement problems in the upper part of the
tank, see

“Handling of disturbances from nozzle” on page 300

). The Hold Off Distance/UNZ

is equal to zero in the default configuration.

Alarm mode

The alarm mode specifies the analog output state when there is a failure or a measurement
error:

High:

the output current is set to the high alarm limit.

Low:

the output current is set to the low alarm limit.

Freeze current:

the output current is set to the last valid value at the time when the error

occurs.

Default settings for alarm mode:



Measurement errors: output current = high



Measured value out of range: transmitter enters saturation mode (if limit alarm is
disabled).

This section describes how to configure the Rosemount 5300 Series Transmitter by using a
Field Communicator.
