8. USAGE EXAMPLE

8.5.2 General procedures

When configuring either COM-JG initial settings or communication item settings, first follow the
general procedures below.

Registering a GSD file is only performed when configuring COM-JG initial settings; it is not
necessary when configuring communication item settings.

Creating a new project

When configuring communication item settings, you can save the project that you created
when configuring COM-JG initial settings under a different name. This will enable you to
omit “PLC master setting” and “Register a COM-JG.”

Start programming software STEP7.

Select the menu command

File

→

New…

, and creating a new project.

In this example, the project name is “COM-J.”

When configuring communication item settings, use a different project name than the
project name you used for COM-JG initial settings.
