<Scan>
The <Scan> key triggers a measurement if a live image or the start
screen is being displayed. If text input is being made, the <Scan> key
inputs the numeral 0.
6.2.2
Menu structure for device operation
The REA MLV-2D is supplied from the factory with a standard configuration. With this
configuration, measurements can be carried out immediately.
The REA Windows application TransWin32 is used to configure all of the REA MLV-2D's
settings. Some of these settings are available directly from the REA MLV-2D's
terminal. These can be accessed by pressing the <Setup> key. Basic functions such
as switch-off and reboot (for example) are available after pressing the <ON> key.

Start display / Switch ON
The REA MLV-2D is switched on and off with the red <ON> key. The switch-on
process takes about 20 to 40 seconds: after this, the device is then ready for use.
During the power-on sequence, the LEDs flash to indicate the various power-on
stages. Once the device is displaying the graphical start screen, it is ready for use.
The start screen gives an at-a-glance view of the
most important information about the device:
Device type (REA MLV-2D)
Device name (here: MLV_default)
(customisable)
Program version (1.0.20.1/14081r)
1D & 2D Barcode Verifier (hard-coded text)
Selected analysis standard(s)
Camera module focal length
Selected grade (here: 2 (1.5))

The following details are shown in the footer:
The green field on the left shows that the
device has mains power. This is an artefact
of the battery-powered devices REA ScanCheck 3 and REA Check ER.
The left-hand numerical field is used for internal logging only.
The numerical field in the centre shows the date and time of the internal
operating system.
The green field on the right shows that the verifier driver program has been
started correctly for operation with a PC and the analysis program for the REA
TransWin32 software.
