There are two types of users: normal users and administrators. The administrator can
do anything while the normal user can only perform tasks that do not require
password entry if password protection is active (e.g. perform a measurement, select a
profile, ...).
The name of the logged-in user is stored in a log file. The following actions are stored
in the log file:
Calibration
Create user, delete user
There are two alternative approaches to deploying user management:
User management via TransWin32 (only if software option available)
-
User management via the service program (relevant for users of REA Check ER
and REA ScanCheck 3 without a TransWin32 licence)
The actual user management dialog and the subsequent working principles are the
same in both cases. The ways used to access the user management dialog are
different, however. In the TransWin32 application, user management is accessed via
the Configure -> Other -> User Management menu path. The service program is
either started as a standalone program or from the "Tools" menu in TransWin32. In
the service program, the "Profile and User Management" tab is selected. The desired
device is selected using the device's search function. The user dialog is accessed
using the "User Management..." button.
When first accessed, the user dialog appears as follows:

If neither a user nor a password has been set up, the dialog is confirmed with OK. A
dialog appears, prompting entry of the password for the predefined administrator
(default admin). If users have already been created, the user management dialog can
be started directly with the "User Management" button.
