Scaling adjustment
As a third step, scale adjustment is performed.

The process involves using the live image display to position the Data Matrix code,
designated as Dnom = 0.5, as precisely as possible in the middle of the cross hairs
and perpendicular to the image section. The software has a setting for the Dnom
value in millimetres (mm). The value of 0.500 is the required setting in mm. The
scaling adjustment sets the pixel size automatically so that the known correct size of
the calibration symbol is shown precisely in the measurement result. Following scale
adjustment, the code is measured automatically twice. The first measurement uses
red light and the second white light. The results should be documented and are used
as a reference for the next calibration (i.e. as part of test equipment monitoring).
The symbol with Dnom = 0.75 mm is used for the camera module with a 16 mm focal
length.
