Quiet zone display
The quiet zone (also called light margin) is marked by using this icon. This enables the
simple recognition of whether this area contains spots or other faults that should not
be there (homogeneous white in positive symbols and homogeneous black in negative
symbols are required features).
Detailed measurement
This icon activates a detailed measurement. In the measurement image, a red point
appears whose diameter matches the size of the synthetic aperture. The point can be
moved with the mouse to different places in the code. Information is then shown
about the code word number, bit number, reflectance and modulation values at the
selected location.
Matrix centres
The centres of the matrix cells are highlighted with green dots.
Warnings
With this button, all matrix cells (if active) are marked yellow if they are close to the
threshold between two grades in terms of the modulation and the contrast
measurement values. The more frequently such modules appear, the higher the risk
of a given measurement result wavering between two grades.
Display errors
All matrix cells capable of being handled by error correction are highlighted with red
dots. This always occurs if a given matrix cell is identified as dark instead of bright or
vice versa. Depending on the symbology and code size, error correction can identify
these errors and, within certain limits, ensure correct decoding takes place. If this
capacity is exhausted, an attempt is made to obtain a result with a non-standard
decoding (error: "Reference decode failed"). If even this attempt fails, then no further
decoding is possible.
