Setup menu details
Device configuration
Device configuration is a submenu accessed from
the Setup menu. If passwords have been activated
or a user is logged-in without administrator rights,
these settings will be locked-out and inaccessible.
1 - Operating modes
The device can be configured to sound a beep when
taking measurements. To do so, select and activate
the checkbox in front of the corresponding field.
To identify the REA MLV-2D in a network
environment, the device can get an individual
device name. The name is entered into the "Device
name" field.
2 - Date and time submenu
The REA MLV-2D contains a real-time clock, which
runs independently of the external power supply.
This menu enables you to set the time and date.
This internal device time setting is used by the REA
MLV-2D operating system. For analyses and the timestamp for verification reports,
the time and date is used from the PC on which TransWin32 is running.
3 - Network configuration
The network settings are described in section 4.6.11.
4 - Options
A code can be entered that activates software functions that were purchased
subsequently (e.g. optional symbologies or the REA Database).
5 - Password
Password protection can be activated directly on the terminal as an alternative to
TransWin32 password and user management. If no password exists, only the new
password is entered and <OK Enter> is then used to confirm all fields. If an old
password exists in the system, this must be entered. If the old password has been
lost, then the part of the serial number highlighted in red can be used as the old
password (0030.025.100-
00526
-8). The serial number is printed on the type label
and is also shown in the system information (see section
