Checklist for measuring
To ensure measurements are performed correctly, observe the following points:
1.
The distance between the code and the device should vary only slightly. Due to
the small distance between the lens and verification area, the depth of field is
limited to +/- 1 mm.
2.
The code should always be positioned centrally in the middle of the
measurement area.
3.
Always aim to orient the code in parallel or at an angle of 90° to the field of
view in order to minimise any inaccuracies due to stepping effects at the code
edges.
4.
The automated orientation function defines the measurement area for 2D codes
and barcodes. The measurement area is shown by a superimposed green
square for 2D codes and by red measurement lines for barcodes. The square
must surround the code and be parallel to the code sides.
The measurement lines must cross the bars of the code at an angle of 90°.
If this is not the case, the measurement area must be specified manually (see
section 7.5).
