Unit Type

Use the Unit Type field to identify the physical configuration of the
BV1250 being installed.

It is important to correctly identify the unit type because during unit
setup, this information is recognized by the Maintenance Console
Software. Once entered into the Maintenance Console Software
database, the unit Type designation assures that the correct
configuration options are displayed during unit setup process.

In the Maintenance Console Software, the unit types are abbreviated
using the following notation:

Unit Name

Use the Unit Name to record a name to be associated with each
network unit (i.e. Gateway) in the Maintenance Console Software.
Although the Maintenance Console Software requires this information
before a unit can be defined and configured, it is used for unit
identification only and is not recorded in the unit’s configuration file
(OFDD.VHO).

The Unit Name field allows for the entry of an unrestricted
alphanumeric string.

In the sample worksheet the unit names are simply numbered units,
e.g. Unit 1, Unit 2, etc.
