D.2 BV1250 Internal DNS Database

The internal DNS database stored in the file DNS.DAT located in the
Cons40/System subdirectory. This file can store number translation
information for up to 511 units.

The DNS.DAT file stored in each network unit file must be identical.

If the installed IVG network will exceed 511 units, an external DNS
server is required.

The internal DNS.DAT file is a simple text based database file. Each line
in the file is a record containing number translation information for a
BV1250 unit in a network sharing the same domain.

Within each record, fields are identified by a single letter. Following each
field identifier, the field values are recorded.

The fields in the DNS.DAT file are:

N

= Called Unit Code (IVG Office Code for AP/FXS or PBX Office Code for

E&M/E&M-OD).

R

= Remaining digits to be dialed in order to complete a connection.

(Up to 32 digits)

= IP address of destination BV1250
