Interface Timing
Use the Interface Timing section of the worksheet to record timing
parameters used in the FXO unit’s connection with the PSTN.
In most cases the default timing settings for the FXO to PSTN interface will
provide a suitable connection, some PSTN connection parameters may
require different values to assure proper operation.
The timing parameters that can be adjusted include Dial Tone (DT), Busy
Tone (BT), Forced Disconnect, Auto Drop Time, and PSTN Response time.
DT Parameters (CO_DTTIM )
Use the DT (Dial Tone) detection parameters to enter dial tone timing
parameters for the FXO unit. Parameters are entered for calls from the
FXO unit to the PSTN, and from the PSTN to the FXO unit.
When a handset is taken off-hook to place a call through and FXO
unit and no PSTN dial tone, no digits will be sent on the line.
Record the following values to indicate the dial tone time that can
elapse without a number being dialed.
Detect Time: Record the Tone Detection time in seconds after
which the unit's attempt to connect will be
abandoned.
If “0” is indicated, the feature is disabled and
there will be no disconnection.
The default value is 500 seconds.
DCS: Record the DSC (Disconnect) time in seconds,
after which the unit will abandon the call.
If “0” is indicated, the feature is disabled and
there will be no disconnection.
The default value is 500 seconds.
BT: Record the BT (Busy Tone) time in seconds, after
which the unit's attempt to connect will be
abandoned.
If “0” is indicated, the feature is disabled and
there will be no disconnection.
The default value is 500 seconds.
