Cabling

Several cables of appropriate lengths will be needed during the
installation process. The lengths will depend on the specific
installation.

•

10 Base-T (RJ45) cable will be needed to interconnect BV1250
units with routers, hubs, and/or Ethernet switches.

•

For each unit port in use, a 2-wire printed inter-office cable will
be needed to connect BV1250-AP/FXS and FXO units to their
respective terminals devices (e.g. ordinary telephone sets
and/or a G3 fax machine.)

•

For each unit port in use, an a 8-wire (can also be 4 wire, 6
wire and 8 wire) printed inter-office cable will be needed to
connect BV1250-E&M units with PBX trunk lines.

•

For each port in use, a 6-wire printed inter-office cable will be
needed to connect PBX trunk lines with E&M-OD ports on
BV1250-OD units.

The following table indicates the specifications for the various cables.

Installation Data

The worksheets completed in the preceding chapter of this guide must
be on hand to perform the physical and logical installation tasks
described in this and the following chapter.

Maintenance Console Software Terminal

During the logical installation process described in the next chapter, a
computer terminal will be needed to run the Maintenance Console
Software. In addition, the RS-232C serial cable described in Section
4.6 will be required to initialize the unit.

If units are to be configured remotely following initialization, a LAN
cable and appropriate adapters will also be needed to connect the
terminal to the network.
